Vancouver, Washington-based developer Holland Partner Group has filed an application with the City of Los Angeles to construct a 334,950-square-foot mixed-use project near the Port of Los Angeles. Plans for 625 Beacon Street call for an eight-story building with 281 residential units, 2,316 square feet of ground-floor commercial and restaurant space, and an underground parking garage with 505 stalls.

The site is currently occupied by three commercial buildings and a surface parking lot. Just around the corner at 550 Harborfront, the developer is wrapping up construction on a 375-unit luxury apartment complex with 5,000 square feet of ground-floor retail. Studio to four-bedroom residences are now leasing from $1,920 per month with an occupancy date of June 1st.

Both projects were designed by MVE + Partners, the architecture and planning firm behind notable LA developments like 1111 Hill Street Tower and Residences at Pacific City. Judging by the renderings, it appears that 625 Beacon Street will feature an outdoor swimming pool surrounded by lounge chairs and cabanas, plus a rooftop terrace partially shaded by a pergola.

If the project is approved, future residents of 625 Beacon Street will enjoy parkside living and the myriad of restaurants, bars, shops and galleries that dot downtown San Pedro. The LA Waterfront offers activities for the entire family, including harbor cruises, whale watching, fishing trips and transportation to Catalina Island. Spend the day aboard the Battleship USS Iowa Museum or chow down on freshly-caught seafood at the San Pedro Fish Market and Restaurant.
