Located in Toronto’s desirable Lawrence Park neighbourhood, The Winslow by Devron has officially broken ground. The milestone event was held onsite at 2781 Yonge Street and attended by the Devron team, consultants, purchasers and members of the Lawrence Park community. The groundbreaking comes on the heels of The Winslow winning two Awards of Distinction from the Ontario Home Builders’ Association (OHBA) for Best Branding and Best Mid-Rise Building Design.

“We put a tremendous amount of care and thought into creating The Winslow, a building that both responds to the change and growth of this neighbourhood but also feels like an extension of it,” says Pouyan Safapour, President at Devron Developments. “We wanted The Winslow to feel like it has always been a part of the community.”

When complete, the nine-storey midrise will grace the neighbourhood with its timeless architecture envisioned by ERA Architects. Inspired by the existing residential homes in Lawrence Park, the exterior marries both modern and traditional elements and is surrounded by lush landscaping with classical detailing by Janet Rosenberg & Studio.

The grand entryway is warm and inviting, providing a private sense of arrival as it leads into a stunning, marble-cloaked lobby. Beyond the 24-hour concierge and lobby, residents of The Winslow will have access to a wealth of amenities designed for enjoyment of life’s simple pleasures. Ideal for large gatherings, the Social Room boasts an expansive kitchen, a fourteen-seat dining table and a cozy fireplace. Plus, a set of sliding glass doors open to an outdoor barbecue kitchenette and lounge. Other amenities include a fully-equipped fitness room, guest suite and a ground-floor pet wash.

The open-concept residential suites are large and spacious with layouts starting at 1,100 square feet. Homebuyers can customize their suites with a variety of finish packages to suit individual tastes and styles, whether you favour contemporary living spaces or more traditional design. All homes feature floor-to-ceiling windows, stone countertops, engineered hardwood floors, luxurious ensuites, and custom kitchens and bathrooms.

PATCH Project

As part of the ground breaking ceremony, Devron unveiled its collaboration with The STEPS Initiative, a Toronto-based public art organization that will oversee the curation and execution of an art installation that will adorn The Winslow’s hoarding throughout construction. Artist Erica Brisson was in attendance during the ceremony, collecting stories about people’s experience of the Lawrence Park neighbourhood which will become the inspiration for the art.

“STEPS is excited to be working with Devron and Erica on this project,” says Wandy Cheng, STEPS Initiative. “It has been a great experience hearing from local community members about their experience of the neighbourhood and we are looking forward to activating The Winslow during the construction period,”

A team from Sheridan Nurseries was also on hand to lead guests through some potting and planting activities. Keeping with the theme, food and beverages were sourced from local staples including Summerhill Farms, Stack Restaurant, and De Mello Palheta Coffee.

“At Devron we like to say any residence we bring to life is Built Beyond Measure. It’s our pledge that we remain committed to realizing truly great residences by putting people and communities first,” says Safapour. “Our goal is to create long-lasting homes for people and families that ultimately shape our city into a happier, healthier place.”
