“We wanted to take this season one step further by pulling back the curtain on the design process and bringing viewers on the journey with us,” says Sue MacKay, VP of Marketing at Empire Communities. “From the early stages of conceptualization, to picking finishes at the Decor Centre, to eventually touring the completed homes, we wanted to show homeowners how much time and effort goes into every one of our model homes, and how they can be inspired to style their own homes.”

De Freitas has been a part of the figure3 team for over five years and worked on a myriad of high-profile projects before taking the reins as one of the firm’s principal designers. He played a leading role in conceptualizing the four unique model homes at Empire Legacy, designed in shabby chic, modern Scandi, industrial ranch and manor estate styles.

In the four-episode series, viewers will get an inside look at the four model homes, the planning involved with each style, and useful tips on how to design their own home to reflect their personal tastes and style.

“With Legacy, we intensely studied the demographic of the Niagara market. There is so much personality in the region and wine country, we wanted to ensure each of the four model homes we designed spoke to that personality in their own unique way,” says De Freitas. “Figure3’s continued work with Empire pushes boundaries with each project. We put in the time and effort so that each development is designed to be a great fit for the community.”
