Awards season isn’t just for movie stars and musicians. The National Sales and Marketing Awards gala (The Nationals) is to new home sales and marketing as the Academy Awards is to Hollywood. The Nationals was hosted last week by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), a Washington-based trade association representing more than 140,000 members involved in home building, remodeling, multifamily construction, property management, design and other aspects of residential and light commercial construction.

Held at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, the prestigious awards ceremony celebrated outstanding achievements in categories like homebuilders and communities, model homes, brochures, advertising campaigns, architecture, interiors and sales offices. Gold award winners were selected by a diverse panel of industry professionals from more than 1,300 entries.

The Canadian contingent represented over 30 percent of the nominations this year, and included developers like Empire Communities. The Ontario-based homebuilder took home 6 Gold Awards and 14 Silver Awards for marketing excellence and was recognized for its latest high rise condominium developments in Toronto — Empire Maverick and Empire Phoenix.

Gold awards included Best Graphic Continuity, Best High-Rise Brochure, Best Print Ad, and Best Website for a Community for Maverick and Best Social Media Campaign and Best 30 Second Commercial for Phoenix.

“These awards represent our continuous hard work and dedication to create innovative marketing campaigns,” says Sue MacKay, Vice President of Marketing at Empire Communities. “Our campaigns were a joint collaboration by Empire and our partners at Pureblink, and we could not be prouder of the outcome. It’s a privilege to be recognized by our industry on a national level for our efforts and passion.”

Located along Toronto’s vibrant King Street West, Empire Maverick is a 49-storey condominium designed by IBI Architects with interiors by U31. The 328-unit residence features The Maverick Social, a social club built exclusively for residents and curated by an on-site Social Architect. The sleek, members-only space is designed to host private events like scotch tastings, trunk shows and after parties, and boasts an open-concept bar and lounge area, meeting rooms and games rooms.

Empire Phoenix is a modern new condominium now selling in South Etobicoke’s established Mystic Pointe neighbourhood. Designed for those in search of convenient city living and connectedness to nature, the 499-unit residence will consist of two modern towers designed by the award-winning Graziani + Corazza Architects Inc., with contemporary interior spaces by renowned interior design firm Figure3.
