Awards season isn’t just for movie stars and musicians. The National Sales and Marketing Awards gala (The Nationals) is to new home sales and marketing as the Academy Awards is to Hollywood. The Nationals was hosted last week by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), a Washington-based trade association representing more than 140,000 members involved in home building, remodeling, multifamily construction, property management, design and other aspects of residential and light commercial construction.

Held at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, the prestigious awards ceremony celebrated outstanding achievements in categories like homebuilders and communities, model homes, brochures, advertising campaigns, architecture, interiors and sales offices. Gold award winners were selected by a diverse panel of industry professionals from more than 1,300 entries.

The Canadian contingent represented over 30 percent of the nominations this year, and included developers like Empire Communities. The Ontario-based homebuilder took home 6 Gold Awards and 14 Silver Awards for marketing excellence and was recognized for its latest high rise condominium developments in Toronto — Empire Maverick and Empire Phoenix.

Gold awards included Best Graphic Continuity, Best High-Rise Brochure, Best Print Ad, and Best Website for a Community for Maverick and Best Social Media Campaign and Best 30 Second Commercial for Phoenix.
