Toronto’s newest boutique condominium is coming soon to one of the city’s hippest neighbourhoods. Located at 520 Richmond Street West, RUSH Condos by Alterra is situated between Queen Street West, twice named among the coolest streets in the world by Vogue Magazine, and vibrant King Street West. The area is packed with local amenities every urban dweller dreams of from grocery stores, bars and clubs to boutique shops and fine dining establishments. Prospective homebuyers can now register online for the latest updates and priority access.

While there are plenty of hot spots within walking distance, residents of RUSH will also benefit from bike-friendly lanes, major thoroughfares and convenient TTC access with streetcar routes on Queen Street, King Street and Spadina Avenue.

What makes RUSH Condos truly special is its proximity to Toronto’s renowned Graffiti Alley. Running parallel with Richmond Street, the development’s namesake — Rush Lane — is on the western section of the corridor, directly behind the building. As the first legalized graffiti zone, Graffiti Alley has become a top destination for photographers, bloggers and street art fanatics for its kaleidoscope of colours and mesmerizing murals.

Rising 15-storeys above the famed Fabric District, RUSH boasts a contemporary exterior design that pays homage to the neighbourhood with its intricate, open weave pattern of classic brick, embedded in precast elements. Designed by Toronto-based Quadrangle Architects, the building’s facade also includes timeless glass French balconies that reflect the opulence of bordering King Street West.

Interior spaces by award-winning interior design firm U31 blend natural stone elements, concrete surfaces and graffitied feature walls for a fashion-forward, casual, yet hip vibe.

“Edgy, contemporary with high-contrast defines our vision for the interiors,” says Kelly Cray, Principal at U31. “Inspired by the dichotomy of street art and refined materials, our design aims to capture the brand mission statement ‘collision of culture.’ The spaces are inherently dramatic — weaving dark and light, raw and sleek and a dose of the unexpected.”

Residents and guests are welcomed into a sleek and modern lobby characterized by swaths of marble and glass, while an elegant party room provides a beautiful backdrop for memorable occasions with a glowing fireplace, plush seating and dining area. Other amenities include a state-of-the-art fitness centre, yoga stretch area, climbing wall and an outdoor terrace with barbecues.

Ranging in size from 458 to 939 square feet, the suites at RUSH offer bright and spacious layouts with open-concept living areas and luxurious finishes. Main living areas feature single plank laminate floors, thermally insulated energy-efficient windows and a choice of exposed concrete or painted white ceilings for non-dropped ceiling areas.

Kitchens feature custom-designed cabinetry with soft-close doors and drawers, LED under-cabinet lighting and engineered quartz countertops. A full appliance package is also included, consisting of an integrated fridge and dishwasher, and a stainless steel wall oven and induction cooktop.

Now under construction, the RUSH Condos presentation centre will feature commissioned murals and artwork by local artists. To learn more about the project and to be the first to hear about the upcoming grand opening, be sure to register online at
