Launched in June by Hong Kong-listed developer Aoyuan International, M2M Condos has already sold out of its initial launch of suites and will be releasing a brand new collection this fall. The international property developer revealed its plans to transform North York’s 8.6-acre Newtonbrook Plaza earlier this year with a sprawling, five-tower master-planned community along Yonge Street, north of Finch Avenue West. Phase I of the project will see 810 residential units, 35,000 square feet of retail and 40,000 square feet of office space, while Phase II will add a daycare, community centre and a new public park.

“We are very excited about the way the building is addressing the new park to the east,” says Rudy Wallman, Principal at Wallman Architects. “Functionality and views from the suites were another key focus of the design. Balconies face the park while light-filled living spaces take advantage of views of an internal courtyard.”

Situated on the upper floors of the first tower, the new release will offer sweeping views of the neighbourhood, nearby parks and the vibrant urban landscapes that stretch down Yonge Street.

Designed by renowned interior design firm U31, the suites boast multiple options for features and finishes that suit a diverse range of tastes and styles. The layouts range in size from 385 square feet to 1,255 square feet and are ideal for entertaining with bright and open living spaces and well equipped kitchens with fully integrated appliances and walk-in pantries, as per plan.

When designing the common areas, U31 integrated natural elements with modern finishes like in the grand residential lobby where natural materials are infused with a blend of metallics and warm surfaces to create a serene and zen environment. Designer accessories fill the space such as oversized planters reflecting the outdoor landscape, a backlit onyx reception desk, stone walls, warm wood ceilings and glamorous accents for a boutique hotel-like feel.

“Aoyuan’s approach to creating healthy communities was central to the design, strongly influencing our use of natural materials and forms, and ensuring maximum access to natural light throughout the building,” says Kelly Cray, Principal of U31.

The amenities at M2M Condos are in line with the developer’s emphasis on healthy living. The third floor amenities include a theatre and children’s play area, along with a state-of-the-art fitness studio with a double height yoga lounge. On the ninth floor, residents will have access to a barbecue area, party room and a stunning infinity pool. Interconnected greenspaces are also spread across the development providing the perfect spots for reading, lounging or hanging out with friends.
