The corner of Sheppard Avenue East and Don Mills Road in North York looked a lot different just eight short years ago. Since launching in 2010, Emerald City, envisioned by Elad Canada, has transformed the busy intersection into a vibrant master-planned community with nine new residential buildings, retail spaces, colourful public art by Canadian novelist and visual artist Douglas Coupland, and a state-of-the-art community centre which features an aquatic centre with an outdoor pool.

To mark the milestone, Elad Canada hosted an official groundbreaking ceremony last week with several Elad Canada executives, including Rafael Lazer, CEO, Netanel Ben-Or, Executive Vice President Development & Business Development, Dror Duchovny, VP Marketing and Business Development, and Hanan Amor, Director of Development and Construction. Also present were Bruce Sonnenberg, Vice President and District Manager, PCL Construction Canada Inc., Len Abelman, Principle at WZMH Architects, and Barbara Lawlor, the President and CEO of Baker Real Estate.

Lumina is located on the southernmost point of Emerald City and shares Block C with The Point and The Peak Condos. Designed by WZMH Architects, the modern mid-rise residence consists of two separate volumes — a 13-storey main tower and seven-storey Oasis Suites.
