On Thursday, December 7th, future residents, realtors, politicians and representatives from the media gathered in the lobby of Aquablu Phase 1 to celebrate the official groundbreaking of Aquablu Phase 2. “Aquablu is not a condo project, it’s not a building — it’s a lifestyle,” said John Garabedian, President of Garabedian Development Inc., addressing the crowd.

Garabedian then introduced hockey legend Guy Lafleur, a former right winger for the Montreal Canadiens who became the first NHL player to score 50 goals and 100 points in six straight seasons. Lafleur, who is a proud owner of a Phase 2 unit, is the new ambassador for the Aquablu brand. “I’m very, very proud to be part of this project,” said Lafleur.

Soaring 21-storeys, Aquablu Phase 2 will consist of tower and terrace condominiums, luxury executive suites and stand-alone waterfront villas. Suites will boast 10 to 11 foot ceilings, engineered hardwood floors, home automation systems, floor-to-ceiling windows, custom closet cabinetry and recessed LED lighting.

The open-concept kitchens will be fitted with Gaggenau appliances and German-designed Poggenpohl cabinetry with full-extension self-closing drawers. Additionally, spa-inspired bathrooms will feature frameless glass showers, designer vanities, Kohler plumbing fixtures, rain-style shower heads and heated tile floors in the master ensuites.

Complete with modern light fixtures and gas hookups, Aquablu’s oversized terraces and balconies will allow for outdoor lounging, dining and entertaining. The south-facing building will provide sweeping views of the Rivière des Prairies, resort-worthy pool area and picturesque sunsets.

The social and recreational amenities that will be offered at Aquablu are unparalleled. The Miami-esque waterfront terrace will boast a heated swimming pool and spa, plus exclusive cabanas and lounge chairs. Residents will have access to cycling and walking paths, as well as private boat slips. The two-storey lobby will be elegant and refined, with a water wall feature and 24-hour concierge service.

Aquablu is a $100 million project that continues to add to the growth of Greater Montreal. The adjacent waterfront park will be delivered to the City, making the river accessible to the public. It will include a pedestrian and cycling path that connects to the 144 kilometer route that links Oka to Mont-Saint-Hilaire.

“When I was much younger I thought I would be an artist because I love art, and so for me, this is my artwork and it’s a masterpiece. There’s no other building like [Aquablu] anywhere in the world,” noted Garabedian.

Aquablu Phase 1 is almost completely sold out, and Phase 2 is in pre-sale. With Aquablu Phase 2 now under construction, delivery is expected in fall 2019.
