The revitalization of Calgary’s East Village continues full speed ahead with the “topping off” of Verve Condos. On January 18th, FRAM+Slokker and the Calgary Municipal Land Corporation (CMLC) celebrated this significant construction milestone with champagne and hardhats. The 25-storey condominium high-rise has now reached its full height, and is 90 per cent sold.
The 288-unit tower is the first of four buildings to be constructed along CMLC’s new pedestrian thoroughfare, “The Riff,” which crosses diagonally through East Village. The Riff connects residents to St. Patrick’s Island, Studio Bell and the new Central Library. Along with its modern condos, Verve will also include a selection of street-level retail tenants in the podium of the building. Retailers include Good Earth Coffeehouse, Panago Pizza and Barber Culture.
“We are thrilled to be celebrating the progression of our second mixed-use project in East Village,” said Fred Serrafero, Vice President of Development and Construction at FRAM Building Group, in a press release. “We are officially ‘topping off’ the building today and will begin welcoming our residents by the end of this year.”
Designed by architectural firm Giannone Petricone Associates, Verve’s stunning exterior exudes a clean aesthetic with fritted glass, colourful vertical highlights and an arrangement of geometrical balconies. The exteriors are matched with the contemporary interiors by Cecconi Simone. The homes will feature nine-foot ceilings and laminate floors throughout, along with sleek finishes and features in the kitchens and bathrooms.
Besides its convenient location, Verve offers a wide array of in-house amenities for homeowners to access. Residents can enjoy city views on the outdoor terrace, exercise in the fitness studio, and host parties in the indoor lounge.
Construction is scheduled for completion this fall. To learn more, prospective buyers are encouraged to visit the showhome in the East Village Experience Centre at 553 Riverfront Avenue SE, in Calgary. Opening hours are Monday and Friday from noon to 6pm, Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 5pm, and Tuesday to Thursday by appointment only.
