The sprawling five-bedroom, six-bath Massachusetts mansion once owned Aaron Hernandez sold after sitting over a year on the market, but well below the original asking price.

According to reports, the contemporary colonial mansion once owned by NFL superstar turned convicted murderer sold for $1 million, reduced from the original asking price of $1.6 million.

While the property had languished on the market since Hernandez was convicted of murder in 2015, it became the most viewed on following Hernandez’s prison suicide in April 2017.

Despite renewed interest in the home following his death, the home’s gritty history likely kept buyers at bay — a key piece of evidence presented at trial included surveillance video of Hernandez allegedly brandishing the murder weapon on the property.

The asking price was later reduced to $1.3 million in June, and ultimately sold for even less to a real estate investor and New England Patriots fan, the team Hernandez rose to fame playing for before his arrest and later conviction.

“At a million bucks, it doesn’t seem like such a bad buy. It’s a great neighborhood, which certainly has some of North Attleboro’s most expensive homes,” says Boston-area real estate agent and writer David Bates in an article on

The home is in need of some repairs, including repairing broken doors and water damage in the garage, totaling an estimated $150,000.

A full range of Wolf appliances can be found in the gourmet kitchen, in addition to a wine cabinet, granite island, wet bar and a dining area. A large sunroom overlooks an inground pool and cabana area.

The home also features a finished basement with a custom bar, full bath with a sauna and ice bath, as well as a theatre room.
