It’s been a year of firsts for interior stylist Jaclyn Colville. Around the same time she and her husband Ryan found out they were pregnant with their first child, the couple bought a 1950s ranch-style home in Burlington, Ontario and embarked on a full gut renovation.

With the clock ticking, Jaclyn carefully planned each aspect of the project, spending numerous hours scouring Pinterest for inspiration and looking for ways to cut costs. The final result — an open-concept living and dining space — is bright and inviting with blue accents and warm textures.

Check out our tour of Jaclyn’s eat-in kitchen with a 10-foot-long navy island here.
