Award-winning developer Graywood Developments is introducing a new high-rise condo project in downtown Toronto’s thriving Entertainment District.

Peter & Adelaide — named for the intersection it is set to rise on the southwestern corner of — will soar 47 storeys, uniquely surrounding three historic buildings and channelling the warehouse architecture of the once industrial district.

“The marquee intersection affords Graywood a change to add to our legacy in downtown Toronto,” says Stephen Price, CEO and president of Graywood Developments.

“From the Residences at the Ritz-Carlton, to Ocean Club and The Mercer, our aim is always to deliver buildings that celebrate and elevate their surroundings,” he says, listing previous Graywood projects.

At Peter & Adelaide, pricing will begin competitively in the $300,000s, and Kelly Cray, creative principal at interior-design firm U31, says suites were inspired by Scandinavian boutique hotels.

“The style of the city is wonderfully diverse yet incredibly accepting: anything goes so long as it’s authentic and strong,” Cray says of his design.

While the streets surrounding the area are packed tightly with top restaurants, bars, and boutique shops, Adelaide & Peter itself also offers a long list of amenities.

There’s an outdoor amenity space, including a rooftop pool, reflection pool, cabanas and lounges — and that’s just on the 17th floor.

There are other outdoor spaces on the third floor, while a large gym will overlook bustling Adelaide.

A demonstration kitchen, large dining room and hotel-quality lounge are also in the works, as is a communal workspace and “recreational hub.”

The first rendering shows how the development interacts with the vibrant Entertainment District streetscape, using brick and concrete as a nod to the area’s past while including glass and steel to reflect modern design.

“This is a great neighbourhood and the epitome of what urban living has come to mean in Toronto,” says Adidharma Purnomo, Graywood’s vice president of development.
