Rentals at The Alexander are off to a strong start following the opening of its leasing office and model suites in downtown Halifax.
The initial phase of 55 suites, which encompass the first four floors of the building, is already half leased — and it only took a couple of weeks for Killam Apartments to hit this milestone.

Rentals start from $1,325 at The Alexander, which boasts one of the most iconic addresses in the city. It’s right beside Alexander Keith’s Brewery, one of the oldest commercial breweries in North America, as well as shops and attractions at Halifax Harbour.
Visitors at the leasing centre will have the chance to check out two handsomely decorated one-bedroom model suites, each with a different view and layout.
High-quality finishes are the norm inside, with quartz countertops and stainless steel appliances standard in all suites.
Demand has largely come from young professionals no doubt drawn to The Alexander’s prime address, one with a Walk Score of 96.
Residents will have lots to do on site, as well.
The Alexander boasts amenities such as a 1,044-square-foot fitness room, a fifth-floor landscaped terrace complete with barbecue area off an approximately 600-square-foot amenity room.
Retail planned for the building’s podium will join the nearby independent businesses including boutique craft supplies Yu Yo The Artist’s Place and The Brewery Barber.
