As the dog days of summer descend upon us, sales are heating up at Matchedash Lofts in Orillia. The brick clad five-storey residence is now 50 per cent sold, but a wide selection of suites are still available, including loft style live/work, garden, sunset, and lakeview units.
Next week, Oakleigh will open the doors to its brand new sales centre. The former sales centre and model suite, which BuzzBuzzNews toured in November, is being demolished ahead of construction site preparation. Now is the best time to buy, as prices will surely rise when shovels hit the dirt.
Located in the heart of Ontario’s lake country, Orillia is not only a perfect summer destination, but a year-round gem. The revitalization of the waterfront and downtown has attracted new businesses, tasty restaurants, community events and public art. Just this week, a new Irish pub called Fionn MacCools opened along Mississaga Street East, and in June the Orillia Waterfront Centre began welcoming park-goers and boaters. Construction of the multi-million dollar Orillia Recreation Facility is also underway, and crews are currently working on the pool basins.
Matchedash Lofts caters to a variety of buyers, from first-time buyers looking to escape Toronto’s sky-high home prices, to retirees seeking a vibrant, waterfront community. Choose from one bedroom, one bedroom plus den, two bedroom and two bedroom plus den condos with up to 1,750 square feet of living space. Prices of remaining units start from $329,900.
The industrial modern interiors feature 9 to 11 foot ceilings, hardwood flooring, energy efficient stainless steel appliances, contemporary cabinetry and large factory-style windows. The bathrooms are sleek and minimalist, with clear glass shower enclosures, ceramic tile surrounds, low-flow toilets and sparkling chrome accessories.
With more than half of its units accounted for, Matchedash Lofts will begin demolishing the existing building in early August, and construction will kick off in September. Oakleigh will celebrate the occasion with an official groundbreaking event, which will be announced in the coming weeks. If you’d like to learn more about the developer and their approach to homebuilding, you can check out our Buzz Talk with Geoffrey Campbell, Managing Partner of Oakleigh.
Potential buyers are encouraged to stop by the sales centre this weekend — Orillia is only one hour north of Toronto and minutes from Muskoka. It’ll be your last chance to view the model suite of the Simcoe floorplan before the sales team moves across the street to the new building.
The sales centre is located at 21 Matchedash Street South, and opening hours are Friday from 2pm to 6pm and weekends from 11am to 4pm. Private appointments can be booked by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
