If you’re a regular BuzzBuzzNews reader, you’re probably familiar with Emerald City by ELAD Canada. We’ve been following the progress of the master-planned community since 2012, and watched as the towers of Block A and Block B rise from the former low-rise neighbourhood. As ELAD now prepares to start construction on the third and final block, we returned to the site for an exclusive tour.

The first phase of Emerald City — Block A — is situated on the north end of the community and is already sold out and fully occupied. Block B is directly south of Block A, and is well underway with all three buildings at different stages of construction. Block C sits at the south end of the community across from Block B, on the other side of the newly opened Helen Lu Road.

At this time, most of the construction is centred around Block B, where The Colours of Emerald City will become the first to complete construction, with occupancy scheduled for the end August.

With a rate of eight units per day, the entire building should be fully occupied by November. The amenities will open shortly thereafter, so residents will be able to enjoy the indoor pool, sauna, entertainment lounge, terrace, media room and games room by the end of the year.

The next tower to finish construction will be the 263-unit Fifth on the Park, which is scheduled to be topped off next month. Occupancy at the modern 24-storey tower will commence in August 2018 and should be completed by October of that year. The base of the podium will include a major retail component, and while the tenants haven’t been revealed yet, the space has already been sold.

Hot on the heels of Fifth on the Park, construction on The Park Club Condos is also progressing well and crews have just finished pouring the 18th floor structure. As they continue to move upwards towards the top 33rd floor, other workers are scheduled to begin installing lower floor windows in August. When construction is completed in early 2019, Fifth on the Park will house 344 units and a host of onsite amenities including spa-like plunge pools, a wet/dry sauna, 24-hour concierge, virtual reality room, zen terrace, yoga room and a fully-equipped gym and personal training area.

Over on Block C, construction crews have started to prepare the site for excavation, which is slated to begin in September. The first tower in Block C, The Peak, will be a mirror image of the Park Club Condos with slightly different suite layouts resulting in a total count of 372 units. And while occupancy is still a few years away, in the summer of 2020, sales at The Peak have been a huge success with the project already sold out.

Following The Peak will be the recently launched Point Condos, with a total of 289 units. Priced from the $300,000s, the suites range from one- to three-bedroom layouts and are ideal for all types of homebuyers from single professionals to empty nesters. Interiors by Tanner Hill Associates promise to impress with contemporary style and the latest in features and designer finishes.

Tanner Hill also designed the development’s impressive array of amenities, including the chic lobby complete with concierge service, a large party room and lounge for entertaining, plus a fully furnished guest suite for overnight visitors. Other amenities include a yoga studio and fitness room, theatre room, private dining room, warming kitchen and secure bike storage.

Residents of The Point will also be steps away from Emerald City’s recently completed Parkway Forest Community Centre. The state-of-the-art facility boasts a full-size gymnasium, weight room, dance studios, running track, craft rooms, commercial teaching kitchen, green roof and a YMCA-run daycare centre. Parkway Forest also features a 5,000 square foot aquatic centre and public outdoor pool, which was officially opened by Toronto Mayor John Tory and representatives from ELAD Canada for the summer season.

Even more amenities are just minutes away at the nearby Fairview Mall. With over 160 stores and services, including Hudson’s Bay, H&M and an Apple Store, the expansive retail centre is sure to be a popular spot for residents of Emerald City.
