With Canada 150 celebrations well underway, the city of Ottawa is abuzz with activity. And at the centre of it all is ArtHaus Condos by Montreal-based DevMcGill. The 88-unit residence is the developers first venture outside of Quebec and is itself celebrating a major milestone as 60 per cent of units are now sold. Construction is also moving quickly with crews now working on the mechanical and electrical infrastructure above the top 23rd floor.
When construction is completed later this year, ArtHaus will become the residential component of the ambitious Ottawa Art Gallery (OAG) and Arts Court redevelopment led by the City of Ottawa, DevMcGill, The Ottawa Art Gallery, Group Germain and the University of Ottawa. The mixed-use community will result in a diverse collection of residential units, a 1,600-square-foot theatre run by the University of Ottawa and a fully renovated and expanded Ottawa Art Gallery which will house the Firestone Collection of Canadian Art. The city’s first Le Germain luxury hotel will also be part of the complex occupying the lower 14 floors.
Designed by leading architectural firm Groupe Regis Cote, the tower features a contemporary exterior characterized by a dynamic glass facade with integrated balconies on the residential floors. The building’s overall profile is clean and modern. It’s sure to be a welcome addition to the Ottawa skyline.
Inside, suites and common areas were designed by Toronto-based U31 and boast sleek and sophisticated spaces with high quality finishes. On the main floor, the dramatic lobby welcomes homeowners and guests with sculptural ceilings lights, integrated seating areas and a gallery wall showcasing the work of local artists. It also features Ottawa’s first ‘virtual concierge’ and intercom system that will allow residents to communicate with an off-site concierge team.
The residential levels start at the 15th floor and are accessed via two high speed elevators. Available suites include studios, one bedroom units, two bedroom units and a luxurious penthouse priced from $1.2 million. Standard finishes include engineered hardwood floors, 9 to 10 foot ceilings, and a choice of exposed concrete or smooth finished ceilings.
The chef-inspired kitchens sport custom cabinetry with soft-close drawers and doors, under cabinet lighting, quartz countertops and designer coordinated backsplashes. A full appliance package is also included with a fridge, cooktop, dishwasher, oven and range hood.
Private amenity areas include the exclusive Firestone Lounge, a multi-purpose entertainment centre that’s perfect for hosting friends and family. It comes complete with a cozy fireplace, TV lounge, catering kitchen and formal dining room. Other amenities include a state-of-the-art fitness centre and an expansive rooftop terrace with an outdoor fireplace, landscaped lounge areas and beautiful views of the city.
