Capital Developments and Metropia are unveiling initial plans for their joint redevelopment of the southwestern block at Bloor and Dufferin Streets in Toronto’s west end.

The developers will present their vision for the site at an open house on April 13th from 4pm to 8pm at Bloor Collegiate Institute’s cafeteria (1141 Bloor Street West).

Attendees, who can RSVP at, will also have the chance to share their thoughts on the mixed-use development, which will include a new high school and community hub.

“We see a unique opportunity to create an exceptional mixed-use destination that celebrates the distinct character of this dynamic community,” write the developers in a joint statement.

Planners from the City of Toronto, as well as local Councillor Ana Bailao, will be at the meeting.

While no renderings have been released yet, “guiding principles” posted to provide some clues as to what the development will likely include.

“A range of housing types,” “market retail [and] cultural amenities,” and “parks [and] green space” all figure into Capital Developments and Metropia’s plans.
