Construction at Emerald City by Elad Canada has moved quite rapidly since our last visit in September. The first phase — Block A — is already sold out and fully occupied, while Block B is well underway with all three buildings at different stages of construction. BuzzBuzzNews returned to the site at Don Mills Road and George Henry Boulevard in North York earlier this week to see the latest in construction progress.

We’re happy to report that construction on Block B is right on schedule with the first occupancies scheduled for August this year. This will be for building B1, also known as The Colours of Emerald City, which has already topped off at its max height of 13 storeys. In addition, glazing work is nearly complete giving the structure a shimmering look with its reflective window wall and white spandrel accent strips. Balcony railings are also now in place awaiting glass inserts and finishings touches like metal panels that will line the bottom edges.

On the southeast end of the site, construction on Fifth on the Park has reached the 6th floor as its podium now hugs the curve of Helen Lu Road. The base of the podium will include a major retail component and while the tenants haven’t been revealed yet, the space has already been sold.

As formwork continues vertically, the first set of cladding installation is scheduled to start by the middle of March and the building is expected to be topped off by September. Interior work will then commence and continue through 2018 with an anticipated completion date of August.

The amenities floor at Fifth on the Park will be shared with The Colours of Emerald City and will feature a stylish lounge with sofas, a dining room and fully-equipped kitchen for entertaining. Residents will also have access to an outdoor patio for barbecuing and alfresco dining, as well as a swimming pool and hot tub, saunas, fitness room, arcade and games centre and even a karaoke and theatre room.

Construction on the third and final Block B building — The Park Club Condos — is also progressing well where crews are now working on 4th floor verticals. Now that they’ve reached the typical floorplates, construction will continue at the rate of one floor every four days. At 33 storeys tall, The Park Club is the tallest tower in Block B and is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2018 or early 2019.

Residents of the Park Club will have exclusive access to The Park Club Spa filled with luxury amenities like Scandinavian-inspired plunge pools, heated stone beds, individual change rooms with showers and a serene meditation room. Other amenities include a 24-hour concierge, Zen terrace, yoga and multi-purpose room and a fully-equipped gym and personal training area.

With Block B moving quickly towards completion, Elad Canada is now preparing to launch the next phase of the master planned community. Situated directly south of Block B, Block C will also consist of three towers designed by WZMH Architects. The first tower to launch will be The Peak at Emerald City, a sleek 33-storey point tower with 371 units.

Prices at The Peak will start from the high $200,000s when the project launches later this year. Prospective homebuyers can register online to receive the latest updates including the official launch date.
