There are plenty of ways you can add a bit of “Star Wars” to your home, but as far as we know, HomeCam is the only home security camera that will make you feel like you’re living in a galaxy far, far away.

Designed by Kim Hyeonseok, a student at PDF Haus, a practical product education institution in South Korea, HomeCam is shaped like Darth Vader’s head and adds a fun element to home security. While we’d feel a little more comfortable being guarded by someone who uses the Force for good — say, Yoda or Luke Skywalker — we have to admit that Darth Vader had a pretty good handle on security. After all, there’s an entire movie dedicated to getting close enough to his Death Star to destroy it.

Despite its fun features, HomeCam is also remarkably practical. The helmet component of the device can be removed for easy cleaning, and a micro SD port allows users to expand its memory for longer recordings. An auxiliary port and microphone ports enhance HomeCam’s audio capture and playback capabilities, and a LAN input makes it possible for users to remotely monitor their homes.

Ready to invite Darth Vader into your home? Kim’s “Star Wars”-inspired home security camera is unfortunately only a concept at the moment, but we’ll be watching to see if it ever becomes a reality. Until then, may the Force be with you.
