Vancouver’s tranquil southwest side will soon be home to a new collection of elegant townhomes. Called Tudor House, the community will be located on the quiet side of West 63rd Avenue between Cambie Street and Yukon Street, just two blocks from the Marine Drive SkyTrain station. With only 15 exquisitely crafted residences, it promises to offer an elevated and well-appointed living experience.
Based in Vancouver, developer Formwerks Boutique Properties is known for designing timeless, refined buildings, and Tudor House will be no different. As Formwerks Architect and Developer Jim Bussey explains in the video above, Tudor House will honour classic Tudor architecture with features such as pitched roofs, steeped gables and decorative timbering.
“Tudor architecture has a place in the human heart, largely because of its enduring value,” he says. “People will understand that Tudor architecture is very old … people recognize that and they understand it. And there is a very warm place in the motifs that come along with Tudor architecture. And that’s why it has such wide appeal.”
Homes at Tudor House will come complete with features usually seen only in single-family homes. Meticulously designed kitchens will be extra wide, with space for all types of culinary endeavours, and will have side-by-side Blomberg fridges and pantries. Dens will also be generously sized, and designated laundry rooms will have a utility sink and full-size washer and dryer. When the day is done, residents will be able to retire to the top level of their home, a haven dedicated to a luxurious master bedroom, ensuite with double vanity and walk-in closet.
The use of Tudor architecture will also allow Tudor House to fit perfectly with other homes in the community. “The type of architecture we do is very respectful of neighbourhoods,” Bussey says in the video. “Neighbourhoods are created by the buildings on the street. And they’re created more importantly by the people who live in those places … creating buildings which really understand that and contribute to it is very, very important to us.”
One- and two-bedroom garden-level suites along with three-bedroom and three-bedroom plus den townhomes will be available soon for pre-sale at Tudor House.
