Located just 15 minutes west of the downtown core, the Etobicoke waterfront is an area of Toronto that has experienced rapid transformation and growth in a relatively short time. The cluster of modern high-rise condominiums along the Humber Bay shores has created a distinct skyline for the community, while new shops, restaurants and cafes have enhanced the vibrancy of the neighbourhood. Adding to that skyline is Mattamy Homes’ latest project, Vita on the Lake, a new 53-storey condominium tower designed by Graziani + Corazza Architects Inc.

BuzzBuzzNews was invited to see the newly rebranded presentation centre at 2167 Lakeshore Boulevard West to learn more about the project.

VitaOntheLake_LagoView2 As one of the original developers in the neighbourhood — after purchasing Monarch Homes in 2014 — Mattamy has seen the area’s transformation first hand with seven buildings in its portfolio.

“You can see the impact that Mattamy and Monarch have had on the site with our joint partners,” said Emilio Tesolin, President of Mattamy’s High Rise Division. “What we’ve got now is a community and certainly the feel of a community with all the buildings going up and the amenities at Park Lawn including a Shoppers Drug Mart and a Metro grocery store. Fifteen years ago it was really just a dream, and I think it’s reflective of where we are as a city.”

VitaOntheLake_LagoView1 Situated south of Mattamy’s sold out Lago development, Vita on the Lake boasts a slim and sleek exterior that echoes the clean lines and modern profile of its sister tower. The building also features a similar black and white colour scheme using dark mullions and white slab edges.

VitaOntheLake_SalesCentre4 Wraparound balconies add further visual interest while providing outdoor spaces for each suite complete with stunning city and lake views. We got a preview of those views by touring the 51st floor of Lago.

“The city really liked what we did with Lago, so when we went to them with this plan, they asked what can we do to make it look like Lago, but not be Lago,” said Tesolin. “So in the end, the city was really happy with it because they found it very clean and elegant.”

Inside, Vita will house 489 suites designed by the renowned U31 with simple elegance in mind. Ranging from 524 square feet to 1,544 square feet, the open concept floorplans are clean, chic and contemporary with spacious living areas, large windows and gourmet kitchens. Elegant interior finishes impress with standard wide plank laminate floors, nine foot ceilings, square edged quartz countertops and frameless glass showers in the spa-like bathrooms.

“Vita means ‘Life on the Lake’ and we utilize that through the design of the entire building,” explained Linda Robinson, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Mattamy’s High Rise Division. “It has a very organic warm feel to it which ties in with the concept of living on the lake.”

VitaOntheLake_SalesCentre3 The amenities will be situated on the fifth floor and include an outdoor saltwater pool with a sun deck and cabanas, a fully-equipped fitness centre, and lounge with billiards. There will also be two dining rooms and a large Muskoka party room that are ideal for entertaining and open out to an outdoor terrace space complete with barbecues.

VitaOntheLake_Rendering Prices at Vita on the Lake start from $269,990 and sales have been swift since the project’s soft opening in August. To learn more about the development visit the rebranded presentation centre, open Monday to Thursday from 12pm to 8pm, Friday from 1pm to 6pm and weekends from 11am to 6pm.
