CentreCourt Developments is adding a new architectural landmark just off Carlton and Church streets.

The 38-storey Axis Condos, which features a distinct, geometric facade that is anything but a commonplace curtain of glass, will bring 575 suites to 411 Church Street in Toronto’s downtown core.

Page + Steele / IBI Group Architects have created a unique structure faced with angular concrete forms allowing for generous balcony space while also cutting an impressive figure.

The development is imbued with striking design elements on the inside, too, as the soaring two-storey lobby will include furnishings from upscale Italian design house Fendi.

Of course, there’s much more to Axis Condos than aesthetics. The development features a number of community-focused amenities geared towards working professionals.

These include a pair of Tesla electric cars exclusively for residents’ use — like a private on-site ride-share program — an open-concept workspace that takes cues from leading tech firms’ offices, and a 6,500-square-foot gym.

Axis is centrally located (it has a Walk Score of 98) and is a short stroll from the College streetcar line and College Subway Station. Loblaws’ flagship grocery store at the former Maple Leaf Gardens and the CF Toronto Eaton Centre are both nearby as well.

CentreCourt Developments is an experienced high-rise builder currently developing five projects in downtown Toronto.

Sales are expected to launch this fall, with construction slated to kick off in summer next year.
