After officially breaking ground at Fifth on the Park and launching sales at The Park Club Condos last summer, Block B of Emerald City is well underway. Consisting of The Colours of Emerald City on the east, Fifth on the Park to the south and The Park Club Condos to the north, Block B is the second phase in Elad Canada’s master-planned community at Sheppard Avenue and Don Mills Road.
The most noticeable change can be seen on The Colours of Emerald City where construction has now reached the 10th floor out of a total of 13. According to Ron Weinstock, Executive Vice President of Development and Construction, forming for Colours should be completed soon and the structure will be fully enclosed by the end of 2016 in order for interior work to commence.
“Most of the sub trades and contracts are already signed and agreed upon in Block B,” said Weinstock. “So it’s just a matter of pushing the work to ensure that everything is completed on time and with the highest quality.”
Over on Fifth on the park, construction is approaching grade as crews finish up forming on the P1 level of the underground garage. When completed in summer 2018, the modern slender point tower will rise 24 storeys and house 240 units.
The amenities floor will be shared with The Colours of Emerald City and will feature a stylish lounge with sofas, a dining room, and fully equipped kitchen for entertaining. Residents will also have access to an outdoor patio for barbecuing and alfresco dining, as well as a swimming pool and hot tub, saunas, fitness room, arcade and games centre, and even a karaoke and theatre room.
“The amenities and common areas are very substantial compared to the average condo in the city,” said Weinstock “We have a lot of amenities and we are proud to provide these kinds of features to our homebuyers in order to be competitive in the market.”
Hot on the heels of Fifth on the Park, construction on The Park Club Condos is also progressing well after the project launched sales in July. Situated on the north end of the site along George Henry Boulevard, occupancy for the 33-storey tower is slated for the end of 2018, just a few months after Fifth on the Park.
Residents of the Park Club will have exclusive access to The Park Club Spa filled with luxury amenities like Scandinavian-inspired plunge pools, heated stone beds, individual change rooms with showers and a serene meditation room. Other amenities include a 24-hour concierge, Zen terrace, yoga and multi-purpose room and a fully-equipped gym and personal training area.
Even more amenities are just across the street in the newly opened Parkway Forest Community Centre. The state-of-the-art facility includes a full-size gymnasium and running track, YMCA-run daycare, dance studios, rooftop garden, and a commercial teaching kitchen.
Adjacent to the main building, construction is nearly completed on the second phase of the community centre. The basketball courts and playground are already being used by residents of the community, while the 25-metre outdoor pool will be fully functional and ready for the next summer season. When it opens, the complex will include lockers, change rooms, a staff room and exterior overhead lighting allowing the pool to be enjoyed through the evening hours.
