Nearly 100 people filtered into The Bennett on Bayview’s presentation centre at 3303 Bayview Avenue for the condo project’s recent by-appointment-only preview opening event.

“There is a lot of interest from empty nesters that like the proximity to shopping and the major highways,” says Marc Nufrio, president of Latch Developments, which is partnered with First Avenue Properties on the project, currently in the pre-construction phase.

Located on Bayview just north of Finch Avenue East, The Bennett on Bayview is surrounded with amenities including the upscale Bayview Village shopping centre and posh Bayview Golf and Country Club.

It’s also just minutes from highways 401, 404 and 407 and Finch Station, meaning residents will be well connected to both downtown Toronto and outlying areas.

The 13-storey, 153-unit development, the first from Latch, has also garnered interest from first-time buyers, notes Griffiths. “They appreciate the affordability of their own home in an elegant boutique building,” Nufrio says.

Prices at The Bennett on Bayview start in the high-$200,000s, substantially below the Greater Toronto Area’s average, which was just over $454,304 in May, according to real estate data firm Altus Group.

Not only does the community offer affordability and easy access to a neighbourhood brimming with modern conveniences and entertainment, it also features a number of on-site amenities.

There’s a state-of-the-art gym and yoga studio, both an indoor and outdoor lounge, and a dining hall with a gourmet kitchen.

Nufrio mentions yet another of the community’s draws for prospective buyers.

“This project caters to end-users, and they’re happy to be close to Yonge and Sheppard, but not necessarily looking to live on Yonge Street,” he explains. “Bayview has luxury appeal — it’s a higher-end street,” Nufrio adds.

Unlike many high-rise projects, The Bennett on Bayview boasts family-sized suites.

Condo units range from 550 to 1,766 square feet, and residents have the option of joining multiple units together to maximize living space.

“Our idea is to create buildings in established neighbourhoods, and we choose these projects to add to the existing fabric of amenities, family life and access to various parts of the city,” says Nufrio.

Following its April launch celebration, The Bennett on Bayview’s presentation centre is now open from 1pm to 7pm Mondays to Thursday, and from 12pm to 5pm on weekends and holidays.
