The smell of barbecue drifted through the air as construction workers lined up for lunch at the site of Lago and Riva del Lago. Last Thursday, Mattamy Limited celebrated the topping off of both condominium towers, which now reach 50 and 16 storeys respectively. BuzzBuzzHome News took a tour of Lago to see how construction has progressed since our last visit in early April.
With hardhats and steel toe boots, we boarded a hoist up to the top floor. Although it was an overcast day, we were greeted by 360-degree views of the Toronto skyline, Lake Ontario and even Mississauga’s ‘Marilyn Monroe’ towers. With the concrete pour complete, construction is now focused on the lower residential floors where workers have been busy installing drywall and other interior finishes.
Upon their delivery in November, the sold out suites at Lago will feature single-plank laminate and tiled flooring, nine foot ceilings, granite or composite quartz kitchen countertops, oversized stainless steel sinks, complete brand name appliance packages and extended breakfast bars on some islands.
Select master bedrooms boast walk-in closets with organizing systems, while bathrooms are fully customizable with either marble or porcelain tiles for the bathtub, shower and floor. Stand alone showers include spa-inspired rain showerheads (as per plan). The large balconies are perfect for outdoor entertaining and offer stunning views of downtown and the lakeshore.
To catch a glimpse of Riva del Lago, we climbed down one floor. The second phase of the Lago at the Waterfront development will be move-in ready by February 2017. Only a handful of suites remain at the boutique-style residence, starting from $299,990 (price does not include parking). Once completed, Riva del Lago will offer two professionally designed lobbies, including a two-storey main lobby with water views and a 24 hour concierge.
Riva and Lago will boast their own club amenities including fitness centres, outdoor terraces, theatre rooms with cinema style seating and party rooms with billiards tables. Residents of Riva will also be able to take advantage of Lago’s relaxing indoor pool, hot tub and saunas.
Our tour ended back at ground level where staff were rewarded with delicious food for topping off on Lago and Riva.
