Varley Condominiums has hit a new milestone as the boutique residence by Tribute Communities held its official groundbreaking ceremony earlier this week. President and CEO, Al Libfeld was joined by the Tribute team and community partners who donned white hard hats, shovels and posed for photos.

Behind them, demolition crews continued to clear the site which was originally a two-storey strip mall with retail and commercial spaces. A few buildings — including the old sales office — are still standing but once the site is fully cleared the project will move into the next phase of excavation and shoring.

Scheduled for completion in 2018, Varley will consist of a four storey Graziani + Corazza Architects-designed building with a total of 108 units. Designed to complement the heritage architecture of Unionville, the residence features an elegant exterior aesthetic characterized by a classic brick and stone facade, large windows and expansive balconies and terraces.

Surrounded by beautifully landscaped grounds, residents of Varley will have access to a wealth of onsite amenities including a luxurious lobby with a 24-hour concierge, private outdoor courtyard and ground floor retail space. That’s in addition to the resort-inspired amenities at the The Varley Club which consists of a state-of-the-art fitness centre with yoga room, a party room complete with bar and catering kitchen, theatre lounge and private dining room.

Inside, Tribute partnered with the interior designers at Bryon Patton & Associates to create refined interior spaces with high quality features and finishes. Typical suites boast soaring 10-foot smooth-finished ceilings, coffered ceilings in foyers and pre-engineered hardwood flooring in main living areas.

The gourmet kitchens by Irpinia feature granite countertops, glass mosaic backsplashes, and a Miele appliance package with integrated paneled fridge and dishwasher, electric cooktop with built-in wall oven, built-in hood fan and a built-in microwave. The designer cabinetry is available in contemporary, traditional, or transitional profiles to suit all tastes and offer plenty of storage thanks to extra-height upper cabinets.

Residents of the development will also benefit from its location just steps from historic Unionville. Known for its heritage architecture, parks, charming restaurants and cafes with outdoor patios, the village has become a social, cultural, and historical hub of the community. Furthermore, scattered along Main Street are several galleries and landmarks including the Varley Art Gallery, Queen’s Hotel and the Unionville Train Station, built in 1871.

Suites at Varley Condominium Residences start at $445,990. To learn more about the development, register online and be sure to visit the presentation centre and model suite located just five minutes away on the South side of Highway 7, east of Warden Avenue. Opening hours are Monday to Thursday from 12pm to 7pm and weekends from 11am to 6pm.
