An exciting contest is asking contestants to write a 350-word essay to win a one bedroom apartment in Seattle’s Queen Anne/Magnolia or Ballard neighborhoods rent free for a year.
As Seattle continues to become more expensive for renters and homeowners alike, one anonymous landlord has decided to level the playing field for those struggling to make rent. Rent for a one-bedroom in those neighborhoods can easily cost over $1,500. Free rent for a year would be a savings of around $18,000 to the lucky winner.
Contestants must answer the question: How would a free apartment for one year help you reach your goals in 10 years?
Walls Property Management is overseeing the 2016 contest and acting as facilitator for other landlords who want to spread goodwill. Unlike other Win-A-Home essay contests, this one does not charge a fee. Last year’s winner was a single mom attending college to create a better life for her and her daughter.
Cats are okay, but no dogs allowed. You must be a US resident and pay utilities. Essays are due March 31st, 2016. For more information on the contest, check out the Essay For Free Apartment website.
