The KIP District by Concert Properties took home two Ontario Home Builders’ Association (OHBA) at the 2015 Awards of Distinction held Monday, September 28th in Huntsville. The master-planned community won the award for Best Video for a High or Mid-Rise Project and Best New Home Sales Office under 1,500 square feet, marking the second time the developer has received top honours for its sales centre and video projects.

The series of videos, created in collaboration with advertising agency 52 Pick-Up and Zerofractal Studio Inc., depict a day in the life of a typical Kipster.

“We wanted to show the different neighbourhood amenities, and the different types of people that would live in the Kip District,” said Catherine Diraison, VP Sales Concert Properties Ltd. “It’s what a typical day for those people would be like in the Kip District.”

The Kip District’s sales centre, located at 5143 Dundas St W, also won top honours in it’s category with its bright and open layout, vibrant pops of colour, and young, hip vibe.

“We’re really proud of that sales centre,” said Diraison. “Not only because it’s visually appealing, but it also hits the nail on the head for our target market and the branding for our project.”

Designed by acclaimed interior design firm Union31, the large interior space is divided into different zones with each room serving a different purpose from the inviting reception area to the colourful kitchen vignettes. Cool art pieces and funky illustrations by local artists Alanna Cavanagh and Rajiv Surendra also adorn the space.

“Presentation centres and model suites play a huge role in the buying process,” said Diraison. “We have it right down to every detail because we feel it makes the buyer more confident with their purchase since they actually see what they’re going to get.”

At the rear of the presentation centre is a beautifully designed model suite. The 591 square foot C3 model, is a one bedroom with a den off the main foyer. The spacious kitchen comes complete with an island and is open to the large living room with plenty of built-in shelves and storage space. A cozy master bedroom with generous closet space looks out onto the balcony and completes the thoughtfully designed layout.

The Kip District has also announced a new promotion for first-time home buyers called the Head Start Program. This exciting incentive waives condo fees for two years, and gives homebuyers a complimentary two year TTC Metropass which they can use at the Kipling TTC station, located steps from their door. That’s a value of up to $10,000 depending on the size of the unit for the condo fees, and approximately $3,100 for the metropass.

“The idea was to give first time buyers, who may currently be living with their parents, a headstart in their life in their new home,” said Diraison. “They can put their money towards furnishings and accessories instead of worrying about condo fees or public transportation costs for two years.”

To see the award-winning presentation centre and videos for yourself, drop by the sales office at 5143 Dundas Street West, open Mondays through Thursdays from 12pm to 7pm and weekends from 11am to 5pm.
