gallery with feather-compressed A residence as a work of art — that’s the premise behind The Gallery Condominiums, Pratt Homes’ latest development in Barrie. The master-planned community of four, six-storey buildings is a celebration of arts and culture. Each phase will be named after a renowned fine arts museum or gallery, including the Met, the ROM, the Louvre and the MacLaren.

On Saturday, October 17th, The Gallery will host a grand opening event at its sales office, located at 241 Essa Road in Barrie. The phase one release will include one to three bedroom suites, priced from $230,990. The generous floorplans offer 700 to 1,454 square feet of living space. The community will also feature Barrie’s first residential rooftop patio, with panoramic views of the city and Lake Simcoe.

TheGalleryCon_RooftopTwo-compressed To build on the theme of arts and culture, Pratt Homes will commission a photographer to capture the everyday beauty of Barrie. An art installation titled “H.I.O Big Chiefs” by Aylan Couchie will sit atop one of The Gallery buildings, facing north toward Kempenfelt Bay. The piece was selected as the winner of Pratt Homes’ art competition, which ran between July 31 and September 13.

The Gallery Condominiums is situated at 300 Essa Road, next to eight hectares of forested land that the developer will help to transform into a public park with meandering pathways, trails and scenic lookouts. The neighbourhood features a grocery store, gas station, bank, Tim Hortons, Starbucks and Shoppers. There is easy access to Highway 400 and the Allandale GO Station is just minutes away.
