Streetcar Developments is no stranger to Toronto’s east end. After launching The Taylor in Leslieville and The Southwood in the Upper Beaches, the developer now has its sights set on Riverside. Scheduled to launch this fall, Riverside Square will be the latest project in the ongoing transformation of the desirable east-end community, with the introduction of The City Collection.

Situated on a 4.5 acre parcel of land on the edge of Queen Street East and the Don Valley Parkway, Riverside Square is ideally located steps from the culinary delights, cultural hotspots, and convenient amenities along Queen Street. Nearby restaurants and cafes include award-winning celebrity chef Lynn Crawford’s Ruby Watchco, La Carnita, Dark Horse Cafe and the recently opened Boxcar Social. Other local amenities include the historic Opera House at 735 Queen Street East as well as the TTC Queen streetcar line with convenient access to the downtown core.

“It is so exciting to be a part of the Riverside community at this time,” said Alie Warren, Vice President of Corporate Development at Streetcar. “Streetcar’s Riverside Square really does offer one of the best locations for living in the city, with the quickest access from the east end to downtown via the Riverside Bridge, and the DVP at your doorstep.”

The project features a bold exterior facade created by award-winning architect firm RAW Design. Characterized by dramatic glass window walls, dynamic angles, and classic brick accents, the exterior aesthetic is designed to reflect the surrounding Riverside neighbourhood.

Amenities at Riverside Square will include a rooftop infinity pool with cabana terrace, fully equipped fitness centre, party room, guest suites, and the development’s namesake public square. This large, open public space will become a central community hub with onsite retail spaces, a grocery store, cafes, and other commercial spaces.

“Architecturally, our main inspiration was the surrounding Riverside neighbourhood – dramatic glass windows, dynamic angles and the lavish rooftop infinity pool and green space all reflect the youthful spirit and downtown attitude of the Queen Street East strip,” said Roland Rom Colthoff, Director at RAW Design. “Anchored by the square, offering the community that extra convenience and friendly feel, Riverside Square will also offer locals and all Torontonians a very recognizable and impressive landmark aside the Don Valley.”

Inside, the development will house 252 units exquisitely designed by Seven Haus Design. With a variety of floor plans to choose from, the suites at Riverside Square cater to all homebuyers from young professionals to downsizers. And, each suite is outfitted with the finest features and finishes including nine-foot ceilings, engineered hardwood floors, fine-crafted cabinetry, premium appliances and luxurious soaker tubs or walk-in showers.

“Everything from the Quartz countertops to the exposed concrete ceilings is designed to showcase a bold expression of understated elegance at Riverside Square,” said Jessica Helps, Principal at Seven Haus Design. “We’ve engineered the perfect hideaway that juxtaposes the bustle of the city skyline with the surrounding Don River.”

Suites at Riverside Square The City Collection start from the $200,000s and range in size from 405 square feet to 1,245 square feet.
