Cloudy skies and gusty winds didn’t stop the TAS and Main and Main Developments teams from breaking ground on their much-anticipated Kingston&Co Condominiums project last weekend in Toronto’s Kingston Road Village.

Several notables were on hand for the ceremony, including Mazyar Mortazavi, CEO and Principal at TAS, Daniel Byrne, VP of Development at Main & Main Developments, Councillor Gary Crawford of Ward 36, Paul Johnston, Salesperson at Unique Urban Homes and Katya Nosko, owner of the Great Escape Bookstore on Kingston Road.

Mortazavi kicked off the celebration by thanking the community, the development and sales teams and future residents of the building who were also in attendance.

“As a developer you start to get very excited as you reach this stage because it’s literally been years of planning and work in progress to get here,” said Mortazavi. “It happens ultimately because of a collective effort and it starts very much with the councillor and the community and then continues with the work that we do with many of you as homebuyers.”

While heavy equipment won’t be seen on the site for another two to three weeks, homebuyers can rest assured that the construction process has actually been underway for several months now.

“When we say construction starts, it actually starts four to six months before you see anything on the site,” explained Mortazavi. “That means that we have been going through the tendering process, selecting our trades etc.”

Residents of Kingston&Co will have an abundance of amenities at hand including a beautifully designed lobby with concierge, a gym and yoga room and a stylish lounge and library.

The development will also offer an array of unique amenities not commonly seen in condos. These include a car wash area, pet wash station, workshop and tool room, and a rooftop terrace with private raised bed gardens and communal growing space for vegetables and herbs.

Although the project is already 60 per cent sold, there’s still a wide selection of suites available including spacious two and three bedroom plus den models. Make sure to register online or visit the sales centre located at Suite 8, 1089 Kingston Road, open Monday and Wednesday through Friday from 1pm to 7pm, and weekends from 12pm to 5pm.
