Exclamations of “You get a car! And you get a car…” can be heard reverberating from the Minto Westside sales centre. For the launch of the project’s second phase, Minto is giving away free electric cars to the first 20 people to purchase a condo and a parking space with an EV charging station. The Nissan LEAF, Canada’s top-selling, fully-electric car is up for grabs — an ideal urban vehicle with a 135 kilometer range from a single charge.
The 20-storey tower, known as Bside, will consist of 323 stylish suites with one to three bedrooms. Priced from the low $200,000s, the floorplans range from 501 to 950 square feet. “Our goal is to design for the future,” said Wells Baker, Director of Conservation and Sustainable Design at Minto. “Installing EV chargers at Bside gives residents who want a vehicle in the city the ability to make an affirmative environmental decision. That alone is a huge step forward, but we wanted to take that next step and actually incentivize a decision towards the more sustainable option.”
Bside at Minto Westside is ideally located at the corner of Front and Bathurst — a walkable neighbourhood with access to a network of streetcars. The waterfront, Entertainment District and Billy Bishop Airport are all just steps away. When you do need to take a car, the Nissan LEAF is an excellent option, as it uses no gas and is well-equipped for running errands around the city.
Residents of Bside will enjoy state-of-the-art amenities, such as the second floor Westside Club, which features two outdoor courtyards and a Movement Haus Gym. The Plunge Social, located on the ninth floor, is an outdoor swimming pool adjacent to an indoor Skyline Lounge and Poolside Lounge — perfect for entertaining large groups or simply meeting up with a neighbour for cocktails.
