Working in an office next to the White House would have its upsides and downsides: You’d probably have to deal with plenty of annoying security protocols — but you could see President Obama at Panera!
All this, and it will only set you back a cool $182 million.
Vornado Realty Trust will command that impressive figure with its sale of 1750 Pennsylvania Avenue NW to an undisclosed buyer. The price works out to $646 per square foot.
Vornado notes that the closing costs have yet to be determined, but the sale is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2015.
Built in 1964 and renovated in 2000, 1750 Pennsylvania Avenue is located just one block from the White House and the Eisenhower Executive Office Building and two blocks from Farragut West Metro. The building currently houses the United Nations Foundation, AOL, Inc., and the US Treasury Department.
The 13-floor building measures 278,000 square feet and boasts spectacular views of the Washington Monument and Mall as well as a striking glass facade. The structure is also LEED-certified gold and Energy Star certified.
