FIVE_ConstructionJuly2015(1) The site of FIVE Condos is seeing a flurry of activity as the development by Graywood Developments Ltd and MOD Developments Inc prepare for its first occupancies later this year.

BuzzBuzzHome News dropped by the site on the corner of St. Joseph Street and Yonge Street earlier this week to snap some photos of the latest in construction progress.

FIVE_ConstructionJuly2015(3) Looking at our photos, you can see that the exterior glazing on the main structure has reached the top residential floor, while glazing on the west and east facing balconies is approximately mid-way up. On the north side of the building, balcony railings are now being installed so it shouldn’t be long before the glass follows suit.

The balconies are a key architectural feature of the Hariri Pontarini-designed tower, providing pleasing curves and undulations as they make their way up the sides of the 48-storey tower.

FIVE_ConstructionJuly2015(4) Down on the ground level, the century-old historic façade of 5 St. Joseph is looking good with new windows installed, as are the strip of Victorian storefronts on Yonge Street that will house the development’s retail component. These historical façades were unveiled earlier this year after being refurbished with new internal support structures, windows, roofs and freshly cleaned bricks.

When complete, FIVE Condos will house 539 units ranging in size from 399 square feet to 1,683 square feet. Standard features and finishes include nine to ten foot ceilings, pre-finished engineered wood floors, granite or Corian countertops and contemporary kitchen cabinetry designed by internationally renowned firm Cecconi Simone. Also included is a Miele stainless steel appliance package consisting of a cooktop, oven, Panasonic microwave, integrated dishwasher and refrigerator.

FIVE_PartyRoom Residents of FIVE will also have access to a full suite of amenities including state-of-the-art fitness and weight rooms, his and hers change rooms with steam rooms, piano bar, cocktail lounge, party room, kitchen and dining room. Other amenities include a 24-hour concierge, guest suite, and roof gardens with water features, seating areas and barbecues designed Janet Rosenberg and Associates.
