CabinToronto_ExteriorKnown for building unique properties like Lanehouse on Bartlett and Dovercourt 455, Curated Properties’ latest addition to Toronto’s residential landscape sits comfortably within the developer’s portfolio of bold and innovative designs.

Cabin Toronto, the six-storey RAW-designed mid-rise project, is clad in natural tones of wood and metal, bringing a warm Muskoka vibe to Toronto’s West Queen West neighbourhood.

Its facade is highly sculptural with a cascading effect and variations in shades of wood to visually separate the two-story units.

“We designed Cabin to become an intimate community; a place purchasers can relate to as a home, rather than an investment,” said Roland Rom Colthoff, Principal at RAW Design.

“We used a few key elements – articulated steps to delineate the two-story units, variation in shades of wood to break the building’s frame, a cascading effect in structure – to create an uncommon level of visual quality.”

The contemporary cottage feel continues beyond the facade with interiors designed by Toronto-based Mason Studio. When designing the fully-furnished model suite, Stanley Sun, partner at Mason Studio, used natural elements like oiled ply, pony hair, polished brass and textured stone to give it a modern yet rustic appearance.

“There’s a simplicity and a true natural appeal to Cabin’s interiors,” said Sun. “We wanted to create a humble, instinctive look, warm and contemporary, removing unnecessary polish. CABIN inspired us to stay true to its Canadiana appeal, using natural stoneware and eclectic cottage-esque furniture in the model suite.”

Situated at 45 Dovercourt Road, in one of the city’s most desirable neighbourhoods, Cabin’s location is just as appealing as its design. West Queen West is known for its creative vibe and unique local hotspots like the Drake Hotel, Bolt Fresh Bar and some of Toronto’s most popular new restaurants, including Bar Fancy and Dandylion.
