Groundbreaking Over 100 people attended The Craftsman groundbreaking ceremony on June 4th at the Lakeshore Road West site of the sales centre and model suite in Mississauga.

The Craftsman is proving to be quite the desirable project as 50 per cent of its units were already sold before construction had even started. In light of the project’ssuccess and early groundbreaking date, VANDYK is offering two incentive packages called “Incentives Crafted for You,” which are tailored to first-time buyers and downsizers.

The First-Timer package is an ideal option for those who are ready to buy their first home but are in need of a little extra help with finances. It offers a 10 per cent down payment plan over the course of one year, plus six months of free maintenance and a cap on metres and development charges.

The other package is called the Right-Sizer package, which is geared towards those who have owned a large, single-family home and are now looking to settle into something a little more cozy. It offers an extended deposit structure, $10,000 in Décor Dollars and a cap on metre and development charges.

At the event, Karen Ras, Councillor of Ward 2 in Mississauga, spoke about the exciting new addition to the Clarkson Village community.

“The Craftsman is a notable addition and an anchor to the Clarkson community,” Ras said. “It is the perfect example of how an established developer such as VANDYK can design a beautiful residential project and seamlessly incorporate it so that it enhances our very desirable community.”

The idea behind the distinctive architecture of The Craftsman was to emulate the Arts and Crafts style of the early 20th century, an aesthetic which was mastered by Architect Frank Lloyd Wright. The building’s exterior facade will feature angular lines and diverse range of textures like stone and glass.

“The Craftsman’s architectural style is something VANDYK embraces,” said John C. Vandyk, President & CEO, VANDYK group of companies. “I have designed my own home after the Frank Lloyd Wright style and I had long envisioned a residential condominium that would fit perfectly within the outstanding natural environment of the Village of Clarkson. I know The Craftsman achieves that objective and it is a project we are all extremely proud of.”

The interiors are light and airy with features like nine-foot ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, flexible floorplans and spacious balconies. The building’s amenities are geared towards socializing and relaxing with options like a yoga studio, fitness centre, hobby room and The Clarkson Club, a lounge with an indoor/outdoor fireplace, kitchen and dining room.

The incentives currently being offered at The Craftsman expire on June 30th so don’t hesitate to visit the sales centre at 1601 Lakeshore Road West.

Prices start in the low $300,000s.
