There’s only so much you can learn about a neighbourhood at an open house. That’s why Realtor.com, the popular real estate listings service, has partnered up with accommodation service Airbnb so that would-be homebuyers can test-drive a potential neighborhood before putting in a bid.
The companies announced Wednesday that visitors to realtor.com in the US will be able to book Airbnb rentals in the neighborhood they have their eye on. Home hunters are able to select the “Airbnb before buying” option that will appear on the homepage and for-sale listings detail pages.
So now you no longer have to wonder if a street is actually “steps away from transit” as advertised in the listing of your dream home.
“Our relationship with Airbnb—a company that helps millions of people feel at home in communities around the world—allows us to reduce some of the unknown factors associated with relocating to a new community,” said Ryan O’Hara, chief executive officer of Move, the operator of realtor.com.
