It seemed only fitting that on the day of our visit to the site of Lash Group’s latest development, the sky was a clear blue and strewn with fluffy clouds — looking not unlike the promotional materials for the 12 storey tower.
Construction is on schedule at Cloud9, with occupancy slated for October of this year. When we were last on site in early March, the condominium had just reached the mechanical penthouse level. Today, it stands at full height and the interior work on the lower level suites is nearly complete.
We began our tour, led by Serge Mazzuca (Vice President of Construction) and Heather Hamilton (Sales and Marketing Manager), on the top-floor amenities area. With sweeping views of the Humber River and Toronto skyline, it’s the ideal venue for working out, relaxing or entertaining guests.
The swimming pool will be bordered by partition walls, allowing it to be opened up to the elements during warmer weather. Adjacent to the pool is the fitness centre, which will soon feature cardio machines, weight-training equipment and changing rooms. The rooftop terrace will be outfitted with a fireplace, kitchen, barbecues and al fresco dining areas. There’s also a rooftop lounge, with a water feature, additional seating and greenery.
From there we descended the stairs to observe the progress that had been made on condominium’s 260 units. On the ninth floor, a fully-enclosed suite (917) was beginning to take on the framework for its master bedroom.
In other units, the plumbing system and electrical wiring had been recently installed. Once completed, Cloud9 suites will be characterized by plank laminate flooring, granite kitchen countertops, track lighting and frameless glass walk-in showers, as per plan.
The lower levels showed particular development, with drywall and fitted bathtubs. The ceilings were textured and in some units the European style kitchen cabinetry was being installed. Units on the ground level, which will be the first to occupy, boast lofty ceilings and walkout patios.
The party room is also located on the ground floor — it includes a kitchen, ample seating, dining areas and an outdoor terrace. The chic lobby will be supervised by an attentive concierge and the guest suite is available to rent on a nightly basis.
One bedroom, one bedroom plus den, two bedroom and two bedroom plus den suites are still available, ranging from 515 to 919 square feet. Cloud9 is currently offering one bedroom units from $229,990 with parking and a locker for $5,000. For a limited time, buyers will also receive five per cent cash back.
Cloud9 is located near the intersection of Kipling Avenue and Rexdale Boulevard in Etobicoke. The neighbourhood is replete with schools, grocery stores, parks, restaurants and services. GO transit is nearby, as is access to highways 401 and 427. Visit the presentation centre at 60 Esther Lorrie Drive from Monday to Thursday, noon to 6pm or on weekends and holidays from noon to 5pm.
