The scale of the new complex coming to Brooklyn Bridge Park demonstrates the ambition of its developers, Toll Brothers City Living and Starwood Capital. Designed by Marvel Architects, the Brooklyn Heights development will feature a 200-room Starwood Hotel and a 108-unit condo building.
Pierhouse at Brooklyn Bridge, the residential component, is currently under construction at 90 Furman Street while the eco-luxe 1 Hotel is slated to open later this year.
While the developers’ grand plans will bring about the first newly constructed homes in the 85-acre park, Toll Brothers City Living and Starwood Capital are also intent on improving the community from the ground up in more ways than one. Volunteers from Pierhouse and 1 Hotel recently spent a full day beautifying Brooklyn Bridge Park by planting flowers and trees and weeding the grounds. Check out photos from the daylong event below!
Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates provided project landscaping for the hotel and condominium with an emphasis on environmentally-friendly design. Eco-friendly features include green rooftops and landscaped terraces that will allow the condominium to achieve LEED Silver certification from the US Green Building Council.
LEED is a green building certification program that recognizes best-in-class building strategies and practices. To receive LEED certification, building projects satisfy prerequisites and earn points to achieve different levels of certification.
The condominium amenities encompass more than 12,000 square feet of space and include a gym, children’s playroom and bike storage. Residents of Pierhouse will also have access to all of the amenities at 1 Hotel.
The development is scheduled for completion in 2015. Sales for available units range in price from $1,050,000 to $10,490,000.
