New York Daily News reports that Edson Bueno, a Brazilian billionaire, is the buyer behind a $53 million unit at Extell’s One57 — one of a number of exclusive developments on 57th Street’s “Billionaire’s Row.”
Bueno is a healthcare mogul and the largest investor in the Minnesota-based health industry giant United Health Group. He joins fellow three comma club member, Marcel Telles, as another Brazilian real estate buyer in Midtown. Telles recently bought a $30 million home at 15 Central Park West.
The purchase of the 80th floor residence was previously a mystery to the public, as paperwork was routed through a corporation. According to the New York Daily News, One57 unit is the ninth most expensive home sold in New York on record.
Pritzker Prize-winning architect Christian de Portzamparc led the team that designed the 90-storey One57. Despite rising 1,005 feet over Midtown, the One57 is only the 10th tallest condo tower in our list of proposed, under construction and recently completed residential buildings.
