The Selby-compressed When searching for your next home, it’s important to find the perfect neighborhood. New York real estate brokerage CORE help you get a feel for the varied charms of New York City with their new feature “Places.”

“Places” features illustrations by Todd Selby in the spirit of his popular project “The Selby.” Neighborhoods of New York are detailed with images and factoids. For instance, on the Flatiron page, rolling over an image of a watercolor dachshund offers the sardonic tip “The Madison Square Dog Park is super sceney.”

Celebrity quotes also accompany each “Place.” The site features Nora Ephron’s belief “My idea of a perfect day is a frozen custard at Shake Shack and a walk in the park. (Followed by a Lactaid.)”

Todd Selby’s project, The Selby, aims at capturing “an insider’s view of creative individuals in their personal spaces.” It began in June 2008 as a photo project of Selby’s friends in their homes. The Selby’s website soon commanded 100,000 unique visitors daily. Now Selby has collaborative commissions from numerous companies, including CORE. His work varies in medium, incorporating photography, film, illustration, and storytelling.
