Just after 12pm, Toronto Police reported glass falling from a balcony on the 10th storey of a condo at 478 King Street West, a mid-rise building also known as Victory Condos. Early reports have said shards hit a 29-year old man who had just passed Weslodge restaurant on the sidewalk.
The man was bleeding from a head wound, but conscious.
CBC News is reporting that paramedics said that no one was transported to hospital. Police said the remaining glass panels are secure and the area has since been declared safe.
In 2013, glass fell from the Shangri-La Hotel at at the northwest corner of University and Adelaide in January, then again in September, this time injuring a man on the street who was taken the hospital with minor injuries. In August of the same year, glass fell from 53rd floor of Four Seasons on Yorkville Avenue with shards landing on a Rolls Royce below.
