Toronto-based Ideal Developments hosted the official groundbreaking ceremony for its Dragon Condos project in Toronto’s Chinatown neighbourhood, earlier this week.

Although construction on the 10 storey mid-rise actually started last year, this week’s celebration marked the official groundbreaking with homebuyers, members of the Chinatown BIA, realtors, contractors and Trinity-Spadina MPP Han Dong in attendance.

Located at 264 Spadina Avenue, Dragon Condos is steps away from the vibrant Dundas and Spadina corridor, the shops and restaurants of Chinatown, and services and amenities like the Art Gallery of Ontario, OCAD University, and TTC streetcar routes.

While other areas in the downtown core have experienced a construction boom, Dragon Condos will be one of the first new developments to be built in Chinatown, and will contribute to the growth and revitalization of this historic neighbourhood.

“As one of the first condo developments to break ground in the heart of Chinatown, Dragon Condos is revolutionizing the future of urban living within a close-knit community,” says Shaji Nada, President and CEO of Ideal Developments.

When construction is completed later this year, the IBI Group-designed tower will house 95 residential units and over 4,500 square feet of ground level retail space.

Although the condo is now 90 per cent sold, there is still a selection of suites available starting at $293,200.
