When an architect buys into his own design, it’s the ultimate endorsement. Cliff Korman of Kirkor Architects did just that — reserving a terrace suite for he and his wife at Zigg Condos in Forest Hill, a mid-rise, boutique style project he designed for Madison Homes and Fieldgate Homes.
Located at 223 Saint Clair Avenue West, the 11 storey, 166-unit and three townhome development is geared towards creative individuals. Its architecture was inspired by ziggurats, the stepped structures built throughout ancient Mesopotamia. Zigg Condo’s exterior features ipe wood and limestone and is sure to stand out amid a plethora of glass paneled high-rises.
One, two and three bedroom units are available, priced from the low $300,000s. Suites range from 475 to 1,800 square feet and will be characterized by natural stone countertops, floor-to-ceiling windows, designer-selected laminate flooring and integrated appliances.
Zigg Condos will include a wealth of social and recreational amenities. On the rooftop, an indoor wet bar and lounge leads out onto the landscaped terrace — ideal for sunbathing, al fresco dining, barbecuing and taking in 360 degree panoramic views. The ground floor will feature a double-height lobby, fitness centre, private dining room and a party room with flatscreen TVs and a billiards table. There’s also a self-serve pet washing station to keep your pooch (and your condo) clean.
The surrounding Forest Hill neighbourhood is brimming with boutiques, coffee shops, restaurants and parks. There are two nearby subway stations, accessible by streetcar, and the highway is only a nine minute drive away.
