The Globe and Mail has hired Tamsin McMahon as its new real estate reporter, following Tara Perkins’ departure last month.
McMahon tweeted the news last night, saying she would be leaving her associate editor position at Maclean’s, where she covered business and the economy. She will begin covering real estate for the Globe in January.
According to her bio on the Maclean’s website, McMahon has also written on crime and politics for several Canadian newspapers and has been nominated for a National Newspaper Award and a Michener Award.
The move comes as Tara Perkins, the Globe’s former real estate reporter, left to join the Canadian Pension Plan Investment Board in November.
