The new residences at Elmhurst cooperative building The Continental Park are more than 60 percent sold about two months after the official launch.
Myles Horn, ABC Properties and Fisher Associates redeveloped the property at 87-10 51st Avenue, purchasing and revamping 79 out of the 153 apartments at the complex. Of the 61 homes initially available for sale, only the two-bedrooms are still on the market, priced from $347,500; all the studio, one-bedroom and three-bedrooms put up for sale are in contract.
Freyer Collaborative reimagined the residences, which feature open-plan layouts and balconies in select units overlooking tree-lined streets or the building’s private park.
All common spaces at the development are being redesigned, and completely new amenities include a children’s playground, gym and resident lounge. The renovated lobby features terrazzo flooring, leather-and-chrome furniture and new elevators.
Interiors have espresso solid oak flooring, stainless steel appliances, white stone kitchen countertops and Italian cabinetry. Baths have porcelain wall and floor tiles and fixtures by Kohler and Grohe. Many of the apartments come with private outdoor space and washer/dryer hook-ups.
Construction is anticipated to finish by summer, and closings are expected to begin in the first quarter of 2015.
