As its taken shape over the past few years, Canary District has built a reputation as a health and wellness conscious community.
The community will act as the Athletes Village when Toronto hosts the Pan Am/Parapan Am Games in 2015, so the focus came about, somewhat, shall we say, organically.
But at the same time, the team that led the planning of the 35-acre urban village in Toronto’s West Don Lands deserve a lot of credit for creating such an ideal location to live a balanced lifestyle.
Beyond pedestrian-friendly streets and an 18-acre park, Canary District will be home to the 82,000 square foot Cooper Koo Family YMCA. According to its site, the YMCA will provide spaces for youth and community activities, a gymnasium, swimming pool, an accessible green roof, and fitness studios and exercise areas.
To give future residents and fellow community members a taste of what to expect from the new community hub, Canary District and the Cooper Koo Family YMCA are offering free yoga classes in the Canary District presentation centre. The Hatha Yoga classes will be hosted every Wednesday at 6:30pm at 398 Front Street East.
Are you an interested yogi? Secure your spot in the classes by emailing email@example.com with your name and the dates you wish to attend. You can also reserve a spot by calling 416 603 7576.
Suites at Canary Park start in the mid-$200,000s.
