The JBG Companies’ 2030 Atlantic Plumbing is rounding the block to fine-boned, industrial-chic completion.
Designed by Morris Adjmi Architects, the six-story, 62-unit condo project at 2030 8th Street is located across from the 9:30 Club. Sales began last month; the building offers one- and two-bedroom residences, with pricing from the upper $300,000s to $1.9 million.
This week, the development’s Facebook page posted construction shots of the facade, which features brick and aluminum factory-sash windows that create a strong horizontal pattern.
Interiors have 9-foot-plus ceilings, natural-finish hardwood floors, expansive floor-to-ceiling windows, stainless steel appliances and design touches referencing the industrial DNA of the original Atlantic Plumbing Supply building. Bathrooms are fitted with floating vanities, floor-to-ceiling porcelain tile and full-width mirrors. Select units will enjoy private rooftop terraces.
Amenities include a full-service concierge, resident lounge with communal kitchen and bar, gym, fully loaded roof deck and reserved garage parking. The ground level will hold nearly 5,000 square feet of retail space.
McWilliams|Ballard is handling sales. Move-ins are slated for Spring 2015.
The entire Atlantic Plumbing development consists of two buildings, the 62-unit condo and a 10-story, 310-unit building with about 19,100 square feet of retail and artist studio space, including a new Landmark Theatre. The 310-unit structure has a Corten steel exoskeleton for bracing support and will feature amenities such as a rooftop pool, yoga or spin studio, catering kitchen, private gardening plots and indoor/outdoor bar, according to JBG’s site.
