Last Saturday, Burlington builder ADI Development Group hosted a high-energy outdoor bootcamp and fundraiser with the Canadian Diabetes Association. The event, which took place at the LINK2 Condos + Lofts sales centre, featured a workout led by Trubody Fitness with participants making a minimum pledge of $20 pledge to the association.
“Diabetes impacts my family. It affects so many lives and the problem is growing,” said Tariq Adi, CEO of ADI Development Group. “REBOOT is a way for us to promote the importance of staying active and eating right while raising funds and helping the CDA to establish a greater presence in Burlington. Diabetes impacts my family, but it also impacts our entire community.”
The bootcamp attracted incredible corporate support, both inside and outside of Burlington.
Aside from ADI, gold level sponsors included Fortress Real Developments Inc., its partner for LINK2 Condos + Lofts, plus DTZ and UrbanTech West. Silver-level sponsors included RBC Royal Bank, RBC Real Estate Markets, Baker Real Estate Inc., Lafarge and Cameron Stevens Mortgage Capital Ltd. Rounding out the bronze level were Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment, New Home & Condo Guide, Feltmate Delibato Heagle LLP, Permacon, Bell Fibe, Vita Graphica, Trubody Fitness and RUHTRA Productions.
Though this is the first time ADI hosted a bootcamp, is isn’t the first time the developer has organized a fundraiser.
“After this year’s success, we definitely want to make it an annual thing. But we have a long relationship with the Canadian Diabetes Association both as a family and as an organization. In March 2014, we hosted the ARTINDEX auction which was a great way to spotlight the local arts scene and involve some incredible talent in out community. With that event, we raised over $7,000 and launched the CDA in Halton,” said Adi.
As you can tell from the photos below, the bootcamp was a hit and this year’s funds beat the amount ADI raised earlier this year.
Adi explained, “The workout was intense, but we really felt like a team. We even had neighbours walking by that came over and joined us on the spot. We definitely accomplished our goal of starting this conversation about the importance of health in our community and we raised over $12,500 for the CDA.”
