5959

5959 Yonge Street Condos, a mixed-use residential and commercial development by Ghods Builders Inc., is set to revitalize a once overlooked intersection of Yonge and Cummer Avenue.

A former car dealership and single-storey, 1950s era buildings will be replaced by a lively urban streetscape. The two-tower community at 5959 Yonge Street will spark countless possibilities for further development in the area.

Kirkor Architects, who are spearheading the design, were inspired by Ghasem Ghods, the founder of Ghods Builders.

“The whole site, its presence, connectivity and scale is a reflection of what Ghasem Ghods envisioned in order to transform this intersection,” said Clifford Korman, principal at Kirkor Architects and 5959 Yonge’s lead architect.

Ghods Builders remains a family owned and operated business. They believe in taking a hands-on approach with every project — ensuring customer satisfaction and strong attention to detail.

The developer conducted a comprehensive massing study to determine how best to fit the large scale into the surrounding neighbourhood. The architects have achieved a seamless design, incorporating tall, thin and clean buildings that offer striking views down Yonge Street to downtown. The buildings exteriors consist of squares and black and white solids and voids, creating two distinct looks — one by day and another by night.

The 5959 Yonge Street Condos are set to become the heart of this promising North York neighbourhood. Register now to receive exclusive updates about Phase One of the development’s construction.
